Here are the pictures I promised from Cole's one month shoot. It was a little stressful because of course he was starving once we arrived, but the photographer was very patient...thank goodness! I also must point out how extremely difficult it is to pick out which pictures to buy. They give you a million options and prices and I'm a visual person and nothing was written down so it was just a mess. I'll for sure be better prepared next time!

Testing
We're doing something a little different for Day 48. We're testing how easy it is to post a video so when he does something really impressive we'll be able to show everyone. For now though, you just get his adorable smiles, which is still pretty impressive to us. He LOVES being naked on the changing table. He'd probably be content on the table for an hour just kicking and laughing at himself. It's very sweet.
Happy Mardi Gras!
I realize I'm a day late, but here's Cole's Mardi Gras picture. I also posted a picture we used for his Mardi Gras themed open house in Spokane. I just wanted you to compare it to the picture we took of him at 7 days old. He's changed so much! Oh, and as of yesterday, little Cole is now a whopping 10lbs 8.5oz!

Back Home
Day 41
(Relaxing with Grandpa)
We made it back to Tacoma 0n Sunday just the two of us. I was nervous flying by myself with Cole, but other than a major blow out in his cute new outfit, he did great. Now we're back and getting ready for another busy week. We both have meetings/appointments this week and some friends are coming to visit from DC and Chicago.

First Trip to Spokane
(I LOVE this picture of him)
Day 40
Day 39
(Abigail, Ben, Lindsay, Cole, Andrew, Isaiah, Joelle, Madison, Holly & Tom)
(Our cute little Valentine)
We're in Spokane for the week and I have pictures of him everyday, but we're missing a couple because they're on different cameras. With that being said, we're going to be jumping around a little bit and I'm going to post multiple pictures from a couple of days.
I'm skipping day 35 because we had professional pictures taken that day. We got some really cute ones, so these will come later. Day 36 we were in Spokane and we went up to Nana and Papa's for dinner to meet all his aunts, uncles and cousins. We're going to skip that day too because we forgot our camera and I need to get the pictures from my dad. So here's day 37, Valentine's Day, 38, Cole's Mardi Gras themed open house to meet a whole bunch of friends (I'll post a whole blog about this with more pictures later), 39, in his hat made by Doreen (I was calling him the Pope and he was laughing at me), and 40, probably my favorite pictures of him so far because his eyes look so pretty!

MOM's Meeting
Yesterday we went to our MOM's group. Cole gained 8oz in one week and now weighs 9lbs 5oz. He's obviously not starving. We also made friends at the meeting yesterday! Alison and her son, Joshua, who is 3 days older than Cole. It was actually a really great meeting. I had a really nice time sitting around and talking to other moms who apparently are going through the same things I am, such as not being able to put Cole down during the day and him eating all the time. It was very reassuring. It also was nice just to meet people in general. I've felt like it's been really hard to meet people here in Tacoma since I'm not working and there aren't many social events like at Tulane. I'm kind of sad I'll be missing the meeting next week, but we're very excited to be going to Spokane for the week. So, since I'll be gone, I may not post as much, but I'll try to get a couple of posts in.

Happy Birthday!
Today's post is a little awkward, but Ben and I both thought that it was appropriate and important to mention that not only is Cole one month old today, but today would also be his Uncle Nicholas' 30th birthday. I didn't realize until just last week that not only do they share the same name, but their birthdays are both on the 8th, which we think is pretty special! Not a day goes by without us thinking about Nick and we of course are very sad that he's not here, especially when we think about all the fun he would have had with and all of the great things he would have taught Cole (and some things that we probably wouldn't want him to teach Cole too). But, we know that he's still with us and watching out for Cole. So, hopefully I didn't depress too many people, but we just wanted to say, Happy 30th, Nick, we love you!

This Little Piggy
We went to our weekly MOMs (Mother's Own Milk) meeting at the hospital yesterday and the pediatricians do a weekly weight check and then you can ask them and the lactation consultants questions. Well, I was all worried because it seemed as if Cole wasn't getting enough to eat because he has been cluster feeding the past 3 days and just not getting satisfied. The weight checked proved this mommy wrong though...Cole now weighs a healthy 8lbs 13oz. He gained one pound in 2 weeks! They said the cluster feeding was normal and that he's just going through a growth spurt and getting my body to produce more milk. I thought that was what it was, but it's just been kind of annoying past couple of days because all he does is nurse. It should taper off soon though. So, since we have a little piggy this week, I though I'd show you his cute little piggies.

Company
Day 23
(his first mohawk)
(his first mohawk)
We had a very busy, but fun weekend. Aunties Joelle and Jill and cousins, Chelsea and Brianna, came to visit us and help out a bit. We had fun hanging out and getting some things done around the house. Cole's going through a stage where he doesn't like being put down much, so it was nice having extra hands to hold him. Thanks for the fun weekend girls!
