Grandma & Grandpa Visit Dugway

Last week Grandma and Grandpa drove down from Spokane to spend some time in exciting Dugway. Cole had his first Easter egg hunt (he was a little slow and only got 2 eggs and it was freezing out, but he still had fun), Ben took Grandpa golfing, we ate shrimp at the Dugway Community Club (Grandma's favorite), we spent the night in Salt Lake City and visited Park City, we ate at 3 Diners Drive-ins and Dives restaurants, and the topper of the week was the trip to the zoo and Cole's 1st train ride. Cole loves visiting the zoo and he now loves riding the train. He did not want to get off. The week went by quickly and we had a ton of fun!

*Note before you view the pictures: it's nearly impossible to get Cole to stop doing what he's doing and get him to take a picture now. It's so frustrating because it used to be so easy to get him to smile for the camera. Now, he's just too busy. Hopefully it's just a phase.

He caught on to the concept pretty quickly!

A Plate Lickin' Good Dinner

Just to give y'all a little background here, on my first date with Ben, I went over to his house for dinner with his family and a bunch of friends. We were having spaghetti. So, I sat down at the table and his brother, Nick, sits down directly across from me and takes his shirt off. Might I mention, that Nick was a couple of years older than me and a total hottie at our high school. Anyway, I never quite understood this eating with your shirt off phenomenon until tonight....

I made homemade spaghetti and, in true Uncle Nick fashion, we took Cole's shirt off (though we did still make him wear a bib) and we were VERY happy we made this decision. After you've seen a Jabara boy eat spaghetti you'll understand why it must be done shirtless.

Mommy's Spaghetti is Yummy Yummy!

It's sooooo good, I've got to get every last drop...

and now it's time for a tubbie!

14 Months!

Cole's been VERY busy in Dugway since he turned 1.

Weight: 21lbs
Clothing size: 12 - 18 months

Teeth: He just got his final molar in for a total of 12!

Sleep: Since we've been back in Dugway, Cole's sleeping habits have dramatically improved. He nurses and goes to bed awake, without a peep, between 7 and 7:30 and he'll get up once sometimes twice in the middle of the night and he's up for the day at 8. He goes down awake at 12:45 and the rule is that he has to stay in his crib for 2 hours. Sometimes he wakes up and plays in his crib. Other times he'll sleep for longer than 2 hours. But, there's no more crying when we put him down, which is so nice!

Strength: Last Tuesday, Cole figured out how to stand up on his own. Since then, he's been walking like crazy. I love the fact that we can go outside and he can just walk around. He loves his new freedom.

Speech: Cole still isn't talking a ton, well, he talks a ton, but there's not much we can understand. Besides from Dada, Lola and Mama (in that order) he also says ball, banana, nose, ears, fish and hat. He signs milk, more and please.
Though we might not understand him, he sure understands a lot more of what we say. He's also working on his body parts. He knows his mouth, eyes, nose, ears, belly button, feet, toes and hands. We're also working on animals and their sounds. So far though, he's only gotten dog and horse.
I Love my Tubbie!

He's telling us something very important.

Mommy made play dough. FUN!

Snow in a Bowl

It snowed this morning, and, since Cole doesn't have any snow gear, Daddy went outside and got him some in a bowl. It was a lot of fun, and apparently really tasty. I think he ate almost the entire bowl. (Don't worry, it was very clean)

What is this stuff?

Mmmm....Snow!

Snow much fun! Hehe!
