I've left Cole for short periods of time with Ben just to run to the store or Target, but today his aunties and cousins watched him for 3 whole hours while I got my hair done. I only called them once to check in and of course he did great. Oh, I also feel fabulous today because he slept with Auntie Joelle from 9:30 - 2am while I slept in bed and then he went to his crib and slept until 4am when he ate a bottle, then went back to bed until 7! I did have to get up a few times in there to reinsert the binkie, but that was minimal compared to what I usually have to do.

Cole's 3 weeks today and growing like a weed. It seems as if he just can't get enough food! It's been kind of a frustrating last couple of days because he just hasn't been satisfied and then he doesn't sleep well, but I think we figured it out. Hopefully we can all get some sleep tonight.

New Record

We've been trying really, really hard not to let Cole sleep in our bed with us just because it scares me and I try to keep him out of our room at night so Ben can get some sleep. So far he's most comfortable sleeping curled up in a ball on my chest and I recline in the chair in his room, but last night he slept from 11pm to 3am with the two of us on his boppy on the couch and then, and this is the greatest part, from 5am to 8:15 in his crib! This means I actually got to spend a solid 3 hours in my bed which is by far the longest I've slept in my bed in 2.5 weeks. Lola loves the fact that she gets to sleep next to dad without me, but I miss sleeping next to my husband. Hopefully this is a good sign that he's getting used to his crib and will sleep there comfortably for the first part of the night soon.

2 weeks old

Yesterday was kind of a rough day, but Cole did get to meet his cousin, Emily, and her boyfriend, Richard. Emily goes to school here in Tacoma, just up the street from us, so she'll be around to help out when I go back to dance. Cole also had his 2 week well child check up on Wednesday. He now weighs 7lbs 13ozs! Guess he's getting enough food. They were very pleased that he was above his birth weight. He did shrink 1/2 an inch though...I think this nurse was a little more gentle with him when she stretched him out, but she also said that his head was probably a little longer from the delivery. Other than that the appointment was pretty uneventful. So far so good!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and try to take a picture of Cole everyday until he turns 1! I figure, I'm not working, so I might as well try, we'll see how it goes. I just decided to do this, and so far I'm only missing day 11, so that's not too bad I guess. Here's his first 13 days...
